Live edit Lightning Web Component for screen flows

The Live Edit Lightning Web Component (LWC) is now available in the Screen Flow Component Library, giving Salesforce Admins and Flow Builders a powerful way to add dynamic document editing to any automated process.

With this update, you can integrate Live Edit directly into your flows—allowing users to view and modify documents in real time as part of a guided workflow, all without ever leaving Salesforce.

Why use live edit in a screen flow?

Live Edit enables users to open and edit documents directly within Salesforce before they’re finalized or sent. By embedding this functionality into a Screen Flow, you can insert dynamic editing steps exactly where they make sense in your process.

Example use cases:

  • Let a sales rep update a contract’s details during an approval flow.

  • Allow a service agent to adjust a customer letter before sending.

  • Provide a guided step for managers to finalize content before sign‑off.

How to add live edit to a screen flow

  1. Create or open a Screen Flow in Flow Builder.

  2. Add a Screen element to the Flow.
  3. In the Screen Flow Component Library, locate S-Docs Live Edit.

  4. Drag and drop the Live Edit component into your screen element.

  5. Configure the component properties:

    • Define an API Name.

    • Specify the S‑Doc ID for the document to be edited (dynamically configured to receive S-Doc ID from earlier steps in the same Flow).

  6. Save and activate your flow.

Live Edit Modal for Screen Flows

Now when users run the flow, they’ll be presented with the Live Edit interface directly within their workflow process. They can make updates instantly—no context switching required.

With Live Edit for Screen Flows, you can build smarter, more adaptable processes that keep your team in control of document content every step of the way.
